Today was, and will always be, a disappointing day in American history—the United States Senate voted against considering additional witness testimony and documents in the impeachment trial of Donald Trump.

As Adam Schiff said, the truth will continue to come out despite its absence in the trial’s formal record. And as the truth is disseminated over the coming months and years, how will that reflect on the Republican representatives who made this choice? How will this day, the decisions and attitudes, reflect on those in favor of this outcome?
