My Dearest Love

We first met in graduate school. It was there that you and I absolved ourselves from personal matters as distant as the Atlantic Ocean, to as near as within ourselves. We did this together, and in another bold and trusting act, absolved ourselves from the very program that had initiated our coming together to begin with.

Now, two years later, you’re beginning graduate school once more. You possess all the qualities for being an impactful counselor to those seeking help, and this servitude to humankind is one of the qualities I admire most about you. With greater love, affirmation and stability that you’ve cultivated for yourself these past two years, your growth as a professional counselor and individual will continue expanding and evolving ever brighter.

My dearest love, for you.
