Bicycle Day
On this day in 1943, Albert Hofmann underwent the first intentional LSD experience, part of which while riding his bicycle home from his laboratory in Basel. Thus, today’s celebration is dubbed “Bicycle Day.”

Thank you Albert for your curiosity and courage, which as a result has changed many lives for the better. Perhaps, if, as he wished, our modern society adopts a modern Eleusis, “in which seeking humans can learn to have transcendent experiences with sacred substances in a safe setting,” society at large will change for the better too.
